What is a giving circle

A giving circle is a way for individual groups to give back to their community by pooling their money, energy, ideas and resources. These circles are the new rage in philanthropy that allow individuals passionate about their community the opportunity to give back while meeting new friends, socializing, networking and sharing their passion with others like themselves.

The GLOW Mission is to:

Give back to our community as a united, self-funded women’s volunteer group.

GLOW Vision:

We will earn the respect of our community through the thoughtful sharing of our time, talents and resources.

GLOW Values:

As individuals and a group, we will:
Demonstrate leadership through our commitment to the community and our volunteer work
Provide support for those in need regardless of their name, race, creed or financial standing
Be respectful of our members and the citizens of Watertown by respecting and maintaining confidentiality when appropriate
Be professional in our dealings in the community—in and outside of our GLOW group
Live purposeful, positive lives to serve as role models in our community

Why Our Members are in GLOW

"It is important to me to feel that I am connected to and contributing to the community that I live in. I am also very grateful for what I have in my life and I want to share it with others." Rita Brafford

"Amazing things happen when people pool their resources for the better good of the community." I was impressed with the members of Giving Ladies of Watertown and knew that in giving a little of my time and resources that I would receive so much more in friendships, joy and laughter." Jane Brotski

"I have been blessed with a life where my every need is met. For this reason it is not only my desire, but also I believe my responsibility, to help others less fortunate. Being part of Giving Ladies of Watertown affords me the opportunity to join forces with a host of amazing women, from various walks of life, to offer our cumulative gifts, time and talents to others who need help. Whether it's to meet an immediate need, a short or long term goal, or simply to lend a helping hand, it's all good!" Julie Richart

"I truly believe that we are here on Earth to learn about love, tolerance and acceptance of others; in my mind part of this learning comes through giving. GLOW is one way for me to make sure that I give before I leave. Kelly Schwgel

"My goal as a GLOW member is to help my community in any way I can and to get to know more women in the Watertown area. I am so excited to be a part of a young group that is dedicated to achieving the same goals that I love." Belinda Kwapil

"I am so excited to be a part of this special group. Giving back and making a difference in our community in anyway we possibly can is such a honor to be a part of." Jill Hiller
